The AIA UK/London Chapter Annual Excellence in Design Awards is open to architects anywhere in the world for projects completed in the UK and for UK-based architects for projects completed anywhere in the world. The submission deadline is 5.00 pm GMT Wednesday 28 February 2007. Also being offered is The Noel Hill Student Travel Award, open for current students in UK universities. Winners (usually two) will share a £2,000 award for educational travel. See the AIA UK/London website for more information.

Registration is open for the two-day (23-24 February) Northern Europe section event in Amsterdam, Netherlands: Design, financial and legal issues in renovations. Read the description, review the program, complete a registration . Marie-Jeanne van Engelen, Prof. Aff. (email address link in the description) and Northern Europe Section Director Gerry Meagher, AIA, are available to answer questions about the event. Registration is through the office of Gerry Meagher (as noted on the registration form).

By now, you should have received a copy of your invoice for membership in the AIA and AIA Continental Europe for renewal of your membership in 2007. Note that AIA Continental Europe has no online renewal system — members renewing with AIA Continental Europe must do so by post, fax or a file attachment by email. We ask that you not send credit card information as text in the body of an email as its security can not be known.
In December, local only members of AIA Continental Europe received a dues letter with an error. The membership dues deadline was incorrectly noted as 15 December 2007 — please understand that dues were to have been paid by 15 January, now extended to 15 February. Affected members should have already received an email noting this.
AIA membership dues were to have been paid by 15 January. If you've not done so already, full AIA members can renew their membership online (direct link).
While the chapter secretary appreciates your personal notes, please note that AIA members can return to the member services page to update their membership profile.

Marie-Jeanne van Engelen, Northern Europe Section Professional Affiliate member, is organizing a 2-day event in Amsterdam. In addition to a seminar on Friday, 23 February, the 2007 Chapter Board will hold their first meeting on 24 February, preceeding addtional event activites in the afternoon.
