Vienna is not just the location of the upcoming AIA Europe fall conference, it is also the next location of a chapter meeting. Importantly, attending members will vote for 2016 chapter officers; open positions include First vice president, Vice president, Secretary, and France section director. See the form to submit nominations for these positions.
Members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the minutes of the previous chapter meeting (Milan).

During a presentation of the upcoming Lyon conference at the chapter meeting in Hamburg, Richard Anderson asked about a mysterious bent truck in the photo of the Cité International by Renzo Piano Building Workshop. In a completely unrelated exploration of the internet, he came across this: Daniel > Wien > About the hotel Daniel > The boat (scroll down).
Members are encouraged to register for the upcoming Hamburg conference not just for the architecture & urbanism, nor to just greet the many new sponsors of the chapter (who are doing amazing things in façades and glass*), but also to help the Chapter fulfill the required Annual Chapter Meeting. The meeting is Sunday, 21 October and is always interesting. The biggest order of business is the discussion of upcoming conferences. Allow your presence and voice to count!

Available now are Chapter meeting minutes from Basel, October 2011.
With some spirited debate, the Chapter continues to focus on offering high-quality conferences that distinguish AIA Europe. This represents little change from the Chapter conversation in Stockholm, minutes of this meeting are also available.
Notably, the Basel meeting also included a screening of the video created in Stockholm.
With the successful resolution of Board nominations in Belgrade (October 2010), the 2011 AIA Europe Board first met — with enthusiasm and endurance — in Paris (January 2011).
Led by Gregg Brodarick, Assoc. AIA, the Board addressed ongoing concerns regarding the financial health of the chapter, extending the reach of AIA Europe through new marketing initiatives, and the continuing effort in planning the Chapter’s signature events.
With Stockholm and Basel conferences upcoming for 2011, approval was given to schedule a conference in Hamburg for the autumn of 2012 and further develop plans for a conference in Israel in the spring of that same year.
With the participation of Peter Jurmala, AIA by Skype, the board found encouragement that the Stockholm conference will be strongly attended, expecting that a full chapter meeting will allow some long-awaited changes to the chapter bylaws. More information on that meeting and the bylaws changes will be forthcoming.
Interested members are welcome to read the meeting minutes. →
