Murat Soygenis AIA of Istanbul shares a recent project:
A hundred year old apartment building in Istanbul’s crowded neighborhood Kurtulus underwent a major renovation by preserving historic shell and floor slabs intact. New touch to building is kept as invisible as possible yet adding the new simple, fresh aura to spaces. Original brick load bearing walls, cast iron beams were exposed after a careful surface cleaning. Light pastel colors are applied to most other walls to help strengthen the idea of flow of spaces to each other.Images available on the S+ website > an apartment at kurtulus
