The AIA Continental Europe chapter received mention in the 29 November 2004 Institute Update to the AIA Leadership from Norman L. Koonce, FAIA.
Noted specifically were special guests at the Paris Rive Gauche Conference of November 2004: AIA President Gene Hopkins, FAIA and President-elect Doug Steidl, FAIA.
Present, in part, to award a Presidential Citation marking 10 years of the AIA Continental Europe Chapter, Hopkins and Steidl also bestowed the Honorary Fellows Medal on Suha Ozkan, Director of the Aga Khan Fondation, at the opening reception.

The American Institute of Architects Continental Europe Chapter elected new officers for 2005, at their Chapter Business Meeting in Paris, 11 November 2004.
Werner Rüegger, AIA will assume the duties of president starting on January 1, 2005 and will serve in this position for one year. Read more →

“ARCHITECTURE INDUSTRIELLE: Retrospective des photographes BERND ET HILLA BECHER”
The first true retrospective of the work of the German photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher to be shown in France. The exhibition is mainly based on their typological series of industrial buildings, most of which come from the artists’ own collection, plus around forty industrial landscapes and a documentary work from the beginning of the 1970’s about the Zollern II mining complex in the Ruhr basin.—Centre Pompidou

Our guide will be an official guide of the Centre Pompidou. Meeting point: ground floor “Accueil Groupes”
The tour will be followed by a dinner at a nearby bistro.
