Student Awards Program

AIA Europe is pleased to announce the first winner of the Alan Schwartzman Scholarship, Julia Kwolyk of the University of Virginia. From 6 July-1 August, Julia will attend the American Conservatory at the L’Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Fontainebleau.

Julia's selection comes with a strong recommendation by her University:
She is strong with watercolors and a talented musician. She is the perfect choice for this program as she blends two passions — music & architecture — into her studio projects.
The purpose of the new AIA Europe Student Awards Program is to support the educational development of future architects and to share the unique resources of the chapter.

The program, inaugurated with the Alan Schwartzman Scholarship, is expected to grow in time with other prizes: e.g. student design awards and scholarships for AIA Europe conference attendance.

Ideal candidates for the Alan Schwartzman Scholarship are American students applying for one semester or year-long architecture exchange programs in Europe. Please direct queries regarding the program to Tiffany Melancon Assoc. AIA at student_award@aiaeurope.org.
