J. Max Bond Jr., FAIA, Dies at 73

Principal of Davis Brody Bond Aedas and 1987 AIA Whitney Young Jr. Award Recipient J. Max Bond, FAIA died February 18 in New York City. The man of whom Stanford Britt, FAIA described as“a demanding, innovative professional whose tenacity, intellect, and dedication make him a leader and servant of his community,” succumbed to cancer.

James was an unassigned member of AIA Continental Europe from 2004-2007.

Memberships in January

Please welcome new members, Edward Michael Mayer II, AIA of the United Arab Emirates, Kai-Uwe Bergmann, AIA of Denmark, Lane Harrington McLaughlin, Assoc. AIA of the United States.

The membership renewal deadline for 2009 has passed. Members in good standing for 2008 who pay dues before 31 March will retain their AIA benefits and continuity of membership.

Manchester conference registration open

Registrations are being accepted for the 23-26 April 2009 American Institute of Architects UK and Continental Europe chapters international architecture conference, Urban Renaissance Manchester.

Early registration ends 1 April. Event space is limited.

Urban Renaissance Manchester

While registration forms are being completed, potential attendees are encouraged to begin reviewing details for the 23-26 April 2009 AIA UK and AIACE international conference, Urban Renaissance Manchester. Registrations will be available for the Full Conference or a Saturday+Sunday option. A one day extension to Liverpool is offered for Monday. Pricing will be available with the registration form, available soon.
