Organizers Esteban Cruz and Gaincarlo Alhadeff are still seeking exhibitors for the Milan Build Up Expo. Mull it over while mulling wine and register before 3 Jaunary 2007.

Milan -- Exhibition Space Remains Available

Cotton Bay Young Architects Design Competition

With Richard Meier, FAIA, Laurinda Spear, FAIA, and India Hicks (former model and resident of the Bahamas), AIA Continental Europe Member Costas Kondylis, AIA, is a jury member for a young architects design competition sited in Eleuthera, Bahamas.

Cotton Bay Estates & Villas hosts this young architects design competition with submissions due 1 March 2007. Details on the program and registration can be found at the Cotton Bay Architecture Competition Website.

"Ground Zero, New York" presentation time change

The afternoon start of the 8 December 2006 France Section Event, “Ground Zero, New York” at the Maison de l’Architecture has been changed to begin at 14h00, one hour later than originally planned. The Maison de l’Architecture is in the 10th arrondisement of Paris at 148 rue du Faubourg St Martin.

Continuing education credits for AIA members in attendance can be claimed by using the self-report form.

Build Up Expo -- call for submissions

For the occasion of Milan’s Build Up Expo in February 2007, AIA Continental Europe has been offered a 5m x 10m exposition space for mounting a display of work by chapter members. The expo, from 6-10 February, targets the design and building industry across Europe. Additional information for visitors, exhibitors and the expo in general can be found at buildupexpo.com.

AIA Continental Europe members must confirm their intent to participate no later than 15 December 2006 by completing and submitting the exhibitor application.

A minimal number of 10 participants will be needed to maintain the space. A notice will be posted when the minimum quota has been reached; submissions have the following requirements. Similarly, notice will be made should an overwhelming number of submissions be received.

Coldefy & Associes win international architectural design competition

Results of the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) competition have been announced.

The winner is Coldefy & Associes, Architectes Urbanistes, Cambrai, France;

This open international competition, launched by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) in April 2006 was divided into 2 stages.

Ground Zero, New York to Paris

France Section Director Ray Spano, AIA wishes to remind AIA Continental Europe members about the upcoming event “Ground Zero, New York” at the Maison de l’Architecture in Paris featuring AIACE’s own Max Bond Jr., FAIA. On Friday, 8 December, Mr. Bond will speak about the reconstruction of the World Trade Center site.
