This January, the AIA's five existing offshore Chapters—and the one now forming on mainland China—became part of the new AIA International Region. The Region also includes AIA members who reside outside of the United States (except those in commonwealths, territories, and possessions).
This January, the AIA's five existing offshore Chapters—and the one now forming on mainland China—became part of the new AIA International Region. The Region also includes AIA members who reside outside of the United States (except those in commonwealths, territories, and possessions).
The five existing AIA Chapters are AIA United Kingdom, AIA Continental Europe, AIA Hong Kong, AIA Japan and AIA Middle East. A Chapter is also developing among members in Shanghai and Beijing.
In terms of membership—at approximately 2,400 overall—the AIA’s nineteenth region is about the same size as nine of the others. It is larger than at least three of them, and growing. An interim board of directors is now working on bylaws, forming the legal governing entity, and defining operating principles and mechanisms.
