Green in Greece: Member News

AIACE Member Elias Messinas, Int'l. Assoc. AIA, wrote following the Third Quarter Newsletter of his organizing a week of events around recycling, composting and eco building at the island of Aegina, a half-hour from Athens. The events included lectures by reknowned Greek architect Tombazis (UIA 2005) and a guided tour (by the architect himself) to one of his bioclimatic houses on the island. The success of the event has pushed Elias (as the organizer) and the groups that participated to repeat the undertaking. Now being planned are two events:

• Easter 2006 week of Ecology with eco-theater, eco-arts, eco-cinema, etc. spreading throughout the island in 4-5 locations, with an exhibition and products.
• September 2006 ? week of Ecology with a symposium on ECOLOGICAL Building, with exhibition and products.
