EPFL — Learning Center

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

As mentioned in the attached document, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) is planning to build a Learning Center, which will serve as a focal point for the EPFL community to study, interact and exchange information.

In order to give shape to this project, the EPFL launches an international architectural contest. After the selective pre-qualification procedure, ten to twelve architects will be invited to submit their preliminary projects within the framework of the restricted procedure for the commissioned parallel study and then to present their final projects to an experts committee.

A public notice will be posted on February 17, 2004 in the official Swiss press (FOSC). Articles will also be published in several architectural reviews in order to increase architects' awareness of this project.

We would be very pleased if you could spread this information and make your members aware of the international architectural contest, which has been launched for this project.

We really thank you very much for your assistance and for your cooperation in this promising project.

Should you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We remain,

Yours sincerely
