Daniel Herren, 1941-2011

While in Basel, news spread amongst the Chapter that we had lost long time member Daniel Herren, ETH/AIA/SIA.

Daniel served as AIA Europe president in 1993. He was a member of the Institute from 1984, when he completed requirements for licensure in the State of California. Daniel was an enthusiastic supporter of AIA Europe, although unable to attend a conference since 2008 in Athens, from which he shared photos.

A short notice is found on his office website. Daniel's wife, also well known to many in the Chapter, passed in 2004.

#Basel architecture conference publications and web page updates

While not as elegant as completing last minute updates from aboard the airport train in Stockholm, we do have some last minute updates to the page for the AIA Europe Conference, Basel: Small City — Global City. The website program should now match the printed program, a copy of which will be available at registration. Find links on the left for venues & meeting points. Look to the right side menus for links to page elements and print material.
